Costa Cruises
An Italian company with more than a half-century of experience
in the industry, Costa Cruises is known for its outstanding
service to its passengers and its incredible ships. Boasting
"Italian Style" vacations, Costa is a fun cruise line
that offers guests top-notch amenities, diverse activities, and
itineraries that will take you to some of the most interesting
and exciting parts of the world.
Cruises to Europe and the Mediterranean are Costa's specialties
and this Genoa-based company knows just where to go to offer
guests a fabulous time in the Old Country and beyond. On tours of
the Eastern Mediterranean, ports include cities in Croatia,
Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Italy, Libya, Tunisia, Turkey, and the
Ukraine. You can visit ancient sites like the Pyramids, cruise
the romantic canals of Venice with your true love, or bask in the
sun on the beaches of Corfu. The possibilities are endless as the
shore excursions run the gamut from archaeological jaunts to fun
adventure activities.
In the Western portion of the Mediterranean, you might also find
yourself in Spain's Balearic Islands, including Mallorca; or in
France, where you can visit the country's oldest city, Marseilles.
Looking for something a bit different? Costa Cruises head towards
Scandinavia as well, with stops on this itinerary that include
Scotland, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, and the Netherlands. Sail
through breathtaking fjords, visit Amsterdam - the Venice of
the North, stroll through pollution-free Reykjavik, or head to
Spitzbergen, just a few hundred miles from the North Pole.
Amazing!
Additional itineraries in Europe include Russia, Estonia, Denmark,
Sweden, the Canary Islands, Portugal, England, Morocco, and
Senegal. Costa also sails to South America, the Eastern and
Western Caribbean, and makes transatlantic trips from Ft.
Lauderdale to Savona or vice versa, depending on the time of year.
Costa Cruises currently has 11 ships in their fleet and all are
quite opulent, featuring stunning works of art and the best in
furnishings. The Costa Fortuna and Costa Magica are the largest
ships in the fleet. The décor of the Magica is reminiscent of
Italy's finest cities while the Fortuna pays tribute to the great
Italian steamships of yesteryear. The Costa Mediterranea boasts a
magnificent 10-story atrium and the decks of the Atlantica are
named after famous Frederico Fellini movies. Each ship is
decidedly different and carry varied numbers of passengers,
depending largely on the destination.
Activities are many, from relaxing at magnificent shipboard spas
to exercising in state-of-the-art fitness centers to having fun
around the pool and enjoying the many activities that change
daily. You can participate in Italian cooking demonstrations,
learn to speak the language, take a fox trot lesson, or enjoy a
Broadway-style review in the magnificent theaters that part of
all these ships.
Kids won't feel left out. Costa's Kids Club offers careful
supervision and plenty of age-appropriate activities for children
and youth from ages 3 to 19.
