Myrtle Beach Travel
Located at the center of South Carolina's Grand Strand, Myrtle
Beach is a delightful vacation destination for visitors of all
ages. From its long golden-sand beaches to its dozens upon dozens
of golf courses to the ever-increasing entertainment venues
located here, Myrtle Beach is considered one of the East Coast's
finest leisure spots.
The weather is pleasant in Myrtle Beach for much of the year, but
in the spring and fall when the weather is just right, you'll
find hundreds of avid golfers here, hopping from course to course,
improving their game or enjoying the sport for the first time.
There are in excess of 100 golf courses in and around the Grand
Strand area. Most of the hotels and resorts here offer special
golf vacation packages that include pre-determined tee times at
selected courses, accommodations, and even some meals and
entertainment.
Summer is family time in Myrtle Beach. While the weather in South
Carolina can get rather toasty and humid in the summer months,
the waters of the Atlantic are cool and welcoming and most of the
wonderful resorts in and around town offer pools and plenty of
other ways to beat the Southern heat. Myrtle Beach's resorts are
certainly family-friendly, with excellent amenities from water
parks and lazy rivers for the whole family to spa services for
the adults and special kid's clubs offering activities designed
especially for the little ones.
No matter how delightful your accommodations may be, you won't
want to spend all your time at your hotel or resort. There's so
much more to do in this city that has recently become known as
"The Branson of the East." If you like country music,
you'll be in heaven in Myrtle Beach. Wonderful venues like The
Alabama Theater bring the top names in country music to the area,
including such greats as Billy Ray Cyrus, Kenny Rogers, and the
Oakridge Boys. The Carolina Opry offers elaborate variety shows
in its 2200-seat theater, featuring humor, dance, and all styles
of music from rock to gospel.
For the whole family, Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede is the place
to enjoy a fun night out. Aside from an incredible four-course
dinner of wonderful down-home Southern food, guests enjoy an
action-packed show at the gigantic arena featuring horses, stunt
riders, buffalo, ostrich races, and lots more.
Myrtle Beach is also home to many mini-golf courses, tons of
water parks, drag racing, a children's museum, an aquarium, and a
minor league baseball team.
